I frankly didn't care.
It would have been nice however should the local Rabbis had some sort of plan for those who do send to public school- there was no after school learning program geared to public school students- unless you wanted to hire a tutor yourself. Yeshiva tution increases are simply outpacing parents' disposable income increases. And, that model is unsustainable and it is going to crack. Ok, people have been saying that for years, but we are nearing the end of the line. I have had many a conversation with several Yeshiva administrators and they are simply unable to explain how the tuition increases can continue to outpace increases in family income. We need some orgainization, perhaps the OU, to take the lead in addressing this matter. We will either wisely address it now, or, we will address it in haste when the matter blows up. when that happens, children will be "tossed" out because parents can not pay and the school will be unable to provide the education absent additional revenue from somewhere.
Again, the end of the road is near, so, what are we going to do??Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03552618781092194200noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3588600064433744406.post-88353282089431977092010-09-01T20:21:08.678-04:002010-09-01T20:21:08.678-04:00check out themoddest.blogspot.com for tzniut fashi...check out themoddest.blogspot.com for tzniut fashion adviceAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3588600064433744406.post-42277167385166230842010-08-09T08:46:38.306-04:002010-08-09T08:46:38.306-04:00Check out:

Then you cap out and get only very small cost of living increases or even decreases depending on current economics. What you're looking at is more like a series of small promotions, not annual raises.

Apples to apples is more along the lines of 2008 first year attorny to 2008 pre-k tuition, 2009 second year attorney to 2009 k tuition, etc. From pre-k to 9th grade attorneys get clobbered just like everyone else, not to mention that you have increasing nunbers of children in yeshiva.

A more fair comparison is annual increases in top to bottom tuition scale with annual increase in top to bottom attorney scale.

You posted that tution typically goes up something like 10% per year for a given grade. Salaries for attorneys of equivalent experience have been stagnant or declining the past several years. Sometimes they rise nicely, sometimes they stay the same for quite a few years, and recently many went down.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3588600064433744406.post-40842104816595246772010-05-26T18:21:24.690-04:002010-05-26T18:21:24.690-04:00Check out

Out of his pure love for Hashem and the Torah. And his Ahavat Yisrael.

If he refuses to do community work voluntarily, and wants and accepts payment for everything he does, such a man should not be heading a community. He should get a job and earn a living. He can collect milk bottles or clean the windows. That is what is called ‘earning a living’.

Torah is learned, studied and taught: out of Love. Voluntarily. But the ‘rabbis’ have turned the Torah into their ‘Profession’, from which they earn money.

We are commanded in the Shema to:
‘LOVE Hashem, your G-d, WITH ALL YOUR HEART, and with all your soul and with all your might.’

‘VE’AHAVTA et Hashem Elokecha BECHOL LEVAVECHA uvechol nafshecha uvechol meodecha.’ (Devarim, Vaethanan, 6:4-5)

Is the ordinary man or woman PAID to pray to Hashem, or to say some words of Torah? But they would not give a shiur without being paid for it.

The true hachamim and rabbis of old, all actually worked at proper jobs and professions.

Wake up! Even a little child could have worked this out. These salaried men can never truly stand for the Torah, because in a case of conflict between a correct course of action according to the Torah, and the rabbi or rav’s pocket – his pocket and position will always prevail.

Pirkei Avot: (2:2)

“Raban Gamliel beno shel Rabi Yehuda HaNassi omer: yafeh talmud Torah im derech eretz, sheyegiat shenaihem mashkachat avon.
